Former Barclays Exec Joins Genworth Financial As CFO

Genworth Financial has appointed Martin Klein as its new senior vice president and chief financial officer, effective April 2011.

Klein's background covers deep life insurance and finance and investment banking. He joins the firm from Barclays Capital, where he was a managing director, leading both the insurance solutions and the pension solutions units. Prior to that, he also led the insurance advisory division of Lehman Brothers.

Genworth Financial records over $100 billion in assets worldwide and more than 15 million clients. It operates through three segments: retirement and protection, international, and US mortgage insurance.

Klein's position as SVP takes effect on 11 April, while his post as CFO will begin after the company files its 10-Q quarterly report for the first quarter.
